Studené prsíčko

Petr Vogel vystudoval Střední odbornou školu šperkařskou v Turnově, poté VŠUP v Praze v ateliéru kov a šperk Vratislava Karla Nováka, kde působil v letech 1994–2007 jako asistent. Zároveň byl hostujícím pedagogem v ateliéru S+M+L_XL na VŠVU v Bratislavě. Od roku 2008 je pedagogem na Fakultě designu a umění Ladislava Sutnara Západočeské univerzity v Plzni. Věnuje se tvorbě autorského šperku, navrhování medailí a plaket, je také autorem řetězů a insignií. V roce 1995 získal druhou cenu v prvním ročníku soutěže designérů D. Swarovského. Pro prezentaci autorského šperku ateliéru kov a šperk Fakulty designu a umění Ladislava Sutnara v Plzni založil prodejní galerii Resonance.

Ve svých špercích si pohrává s různými absurdními náměty, které vyjadřuje jedním slovem nebo příslovím. Vybírá si ze světa zvířat, rostlin i pohádkových hrdinů a vypráví humorné příběhy, jejichž prostřednictvím s nadsázkou poukazuje na směšné lidské počínání. Jeho šperky jsou hravé, ale jsou výsledkem důkladného promýšlení při volbě materiálu a experimentování s technologiemi. V náramku Rybáři marně chytá 34 identických rybářů jednu velkou rybu, která je pro ně evidentně velkým a nedostupným soustem a nedostupným snem (A. Křížová). /// 

Petr Vogel completed the Secondary Vocational School of Jewellery in Turnov, and then graduated from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague in the Metal and Jewellery Studio of Vratislav Karel Novák, where he worked as an assistant from 1994 to 2007. He was also a guest teacher at the S+M+L_XL Studio at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. Since 2008 he has been a teacher at the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen. He is engaged in the creation of original jewellery, designing medals and plaques, he is also the designer of chains and insignia. In 1995, he won the second prize in the first year of the D. Swarovski designer competition. He founded the Resonance sales gallery to present the jewellery of the Metal and Jewellery Studio of the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art in Pilsen.

In his jewellery he plays with various absurd themes, which he expresses with one word or a proverb. He chooses from the world of animals, plants and fairytale heroes and tells humorous stories that point out the ridiculousness of human actions with exaggeration. His jewellery is playful but the result of careful thought in the choice of materials and experimentation with technology. In the bracelet Fishermen, 34 identical fishermen vainly catch one big fish, which is obviously too large and inaccessible and an unattainable dream for them (A. Křížová).
