Vladislav Urban vystudoval Střední odbornou školu šperkařskou v Turnově a VŠUP v Praze. Po studiích nastoupil do sklárny Rudolfova huť v Dubí, kde společně s Františkem Víznerem a Rudolfem Jurniklem dali nezaměnitelný vzhled československému lisovanému sklu. Vladislav Urban tam přišel s nápadem odlévat formy přímo z modelů, čímž obohatil sortiment lisovaného skla o mnoho návrhů s rozmanitými strukturami. Po roce 1971 byl z politických důvodů donucen z Výtvarného střediska v Teplicích odejít. Odešel do Brna, kde působil ve Výzkumu a vývoji nábytkářského průmyslu.

Na počátku devadesátých let se Vladislav Urban k designu skla vrátil. Vystavené prototypy karaf navrhl pro rakouskou firmu s destilovanými alkoholickými nápoji s logem Czell Collection Edelbrand aus Österreich. Transparentní foukané nádoby doplňují hravé barevné zátky hutně tvarované podle typu ovoce, ze kterého se destilát vyrábí. /// 

Vladislav Urban completed the Secondary Vocational School of Jewellery in Turnov and graduated from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. After his studies he joined the Rudolfova huť glassworks in Dubí, where together with František Vízner and Rudolf Jurnikl he gave an unmistakable appearance to Czechoslovak pressed glass. Vladislav Urban came up with the idea of casting moulds directly from models, thus enriching the range of pressed glass with many designs with diverse structures. After 1971 he was forced to leave the Art Centre in Teplice for political reasons. He moved to Brno, where he worked in research and development in the furniture industry.

In the early 1990s Vladislav Urban returned to glass design. He designed the exhibited prototypes of decanters for an Austrian company of distilled alcoholic beverages with the Czech Collection Edelbrand aus Österreich logo. The transparent blown vessels are complemented by playful coloured stoppers, furnace shaped according to the type of fruit from which the spirit is produced.
