Model z kolekce Cache-cache

Monika Drápalová pochází z Brna a patří ke špičce českého oděvního designu. Je absolventkou pražské UMPRUM, svou tvorbu prezentovala v Paříži, New Yorku i Šanghaji. Od roku 1988 navrhuje modely pod vlastní značkou Modrá. V roce 2001 otevřela ateliér v pasáži Thiaffait v Lyonu, tradičním centru výroby hedvábných látek, o rok později prezentovala svou prêt-à-porter kolekci na mezinárodním veletrhu v Paříži. V letech 2003–2006 byla ředitelkou značky Korloff Couture v Paříži. Je držitelkou ceny Grand designérka roku 2013 v soutěži Czech Grand Design.  Byla esignérkou dámské kolekce pro českou konfekční značku Pietro Filipi. Svou kolekci pro rok 2009 nazvala Cache-cache, což ve francouzštině znamená hra na schovávanou. Každý z prezentovaných modelů má minimálně deset variant, jak jej nosit, skrývá mnoho možností v jednom, oděvy lze kombinovat i napříč celou kolekcí. Každý si může najít svoji oblíbenou kombinaci a vytvořit unikátní model podle svých představ a typu postavy. „Ráno vyjdete v halence, večer si ji můžete spustit a jsou z ní šaty.“ Za tuto kolekci získala autorka ocenění Oděvní designérka roku 2008 v soutěži Czech Grand Design.

Monika Drápalová comes from Brno and is one of the top Czech fashion designers. A graduate of the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, she has presented her work in Paris, New York and Shanghai. Since 1988 she has been creating models under her own Modrá brand. In 2001 she opened a studio in the Thiaffait arcade in Lyon, a traditional centre of silk fabric production, and a year later she showed her prêt-à-porter collection at an international trade show in Paris. From 2003 to 2006, she was director of the Korloff Couture brand in Paris. She received the Grand Designer of the Year 2013 award in the Czech Grand Design competition. She is the designer of the women's collection for the Czech ready-to-wear brand Pietro Filipi. Her 2009 collection is called Cache Cache, which means hide-and-seek in French. Each of the presented models had at least ten variations of how to wear it, hiding many possibilities in one, garments can be combined even across the whole collection. Everyone can find their favourite combination and create a unique model according to their ideas and body type. “In the morning you go out in a blouse, in the evening you can take it down and it's a dress.” For this collection, the designer won the award Fashion Designer of the Year 2008 in the Czech Grand Design competition.
