Kolekce Homa

Janja Prokić se narodila v Bělehradě, odkud její rodina odešla do Prahy. Studovala malbu na AVU, poté sochařství na UMPRUM v Praze. Absolvovala v ateliéru K.O.V. u Evy Eisler. V roce 2017 si otevřela vlastní studio v Praze. Ráda překračuje hranice užitého umění do volné tvorby. Inspiračním zdrojem její tvorby je dětství, sny a pohádky, studium šamanismu, symbolismu či bílé magie. Po několika letech prožitých v lesích Bretaně je pro ni největší inspirací příroda.

Homa, název celé kolekce, je bájný pták z perských mýtů. Hlavními motivy série jsou peří a oko jako symboly ochrany. Na svých běžeckých trasách po lese sbírala Janja Prokić ptačí pírka a zjistila, že peří je symbolem nebeské ochrany. Vytvořila sérii šperků – korunovačních klenotů a pečetních prstenů – pro smyšlená ochranná božstva. Svému nositeli tak mají tyto šperky dodat pocit bezpečí a klidu, mají být pro každého „strážným andělem“. Autorka se inspirovala unikáním peřím rajek z Nové Guiney, ale také rituálními maskami papuánských kmenů. Koruny vznikly pouze tři. Janja Prokić za tuto kolekci získala titul Designér šperku roku 2018 v soutěži Czech Grand Design (stejný titul získala také v roce 2014 za kolekci Hidden Place).

Janja Prokić was born in Belgrade, from where her family moved to Prague. She studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts and then sculpture at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. She graduated in the K.O.V. studio under Eva Eisler. In 2017 she opened her own studio in Prague. She likes crossing the boundaries of applied art into artistic creation. Her work is inspired by her childhood, dreams and fairy tales, studying shamanism, symbolism and white magic. After several years spent in the woods of Brittany, nature is her greatest inspiration.

Homa, the name of the whole collection, is a mythical bird from Persian myths. The main motifs of the series are the feather and the eye as symbols of protection. On her jogging trails in the woods, Janja Prokić collected bird feathers which she found to be a symbol of heavenly protection. She created a series of pieces of jewellery – crown jewels and signet rings – for fictional protective deities. They are meant to give their wearer a sense of security and peace, to be “guardian angels” for everyone. The artist was inspired by the unique feathers of the Papua New Guinea birds-of-paradise, but also by the ritual masks of the Papuan tribes. Only three crowns were created. For this collection Janja Prokić won the award Jewellery Designer of the Year 2018 in the Czech Grand Design competition (she received the same title in 2014 for her Hidden Place collection).
